- Objectives of the Workpackage
The genetic variability of miRNAs in humans with epilepsy is essentially unknown. This workpackage, led by Columbia University (USA) and in conjunction with the University of Campinas (Brazil) and other partners will identify DNA variation across miRNA biosynthesis genes, their targets, and all known miRNAs, and determine if rare variants represent risk factors for epilepsy, applying targeted, next-generation sequencing in TLE patients
